Can I view the cameras from my phone?+
Yes. We set up the app so you can watch live footage and recordings from your phone or computer, wherever you are, and we leave it working before we go — not a manual for you to set up yourself. What's worth knowing is what good remote viewing depends on: remote quality is set by your line's UPLOAD speed, not the download speed that providers advertise. Each camera uses upload bandwidth whenever someone is watching, so four cameras streaming live over a line with little upload will stutter even if the installation is flawless. We check this in the initial survey and, if need be, adjust the resolution of the remote stream or suggest a different line. We also configure the alerts so they flag what matters, not every passing car.Is it legal to install cameras?+
Yes, as long as you comply with the GDPR — and most of that compliance is decided when the cameras are positioned, not afterwards. The basic rules: you may only record your own property, never the public street or your neighbour's property beyond what is strictly necessary; a visible information sign is required before anyone enters the recorded area, carrying the mandatory information rather than a generic one from the hardware shop; and footage is kept for one month at most unless it relates to an incident. Audio is a separate matter and far more restrictive. If you have employees, they must also be informed in advance, and there are areas that can never be recorded. We take care of the signage, the camera angles and setting up automatic deletion, so the installation is compliant from day one.Where are the recordings stored?+
You can choose a local recorder on your premises, the cloud, or both at once, and each option has its trade-off. A local recorder has no monthly fee and the footage never leaves your building, but if someone takes it, they take the evidence too, so it's installed hidden and protected. The cloud survives a burglary or a fire and can be accessed from anywhere, but it's an open-ended subscription and, the day you stop paying, the history is no longer available. Either way, recordings are encrypted and access is restricted. We size the storage for the period you need to keep footage, bearing in mind that keeping it for too long is also a breach of the rules. And we show you how to export a specific clip in case you ever need to hand it over to the police or your insurer.Is it suitable for homes and businesses?+
Yes, although what gets installed is different. In a home, the usual approach is to cover entrances, the perimeter and a point or two inside, with real night vision where there are no streetlights and phone alerts tuned so they don't go off for every cat. In a shop, the counter, till, door and stockroom matter more, and there are requirements that don't exist at home: compliant signage, informing employees and areas that can't be recorded. For businesses with several sites, we connect them all to a single dashboard, with separate users and permissions, so each manager sees only their own. The initial survey is the same in all three cases: how many cameras are really needed, where, and what each one should show. Yes — in the communal areas of residents' associations and in shared and private car parks: entrance halls, access points, ramps and garage levels. For a residents' association we prepare an itemised quote (cameras, recorder, cabling, signage and configuration) that the property manager can take to the owners' meeting, because any installation in communal areas has to be approved before work begins. The cameras are aimed at communal areas, without recording inside homes or any more of the public street than strictly necessary; the recorder goes in a locked room, accessible only to whoever the association designates, and automatic deletion is set to one month at most, with an information sign at every entrance.
