Cookie policy

1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website places in the user's browser when they visit a page. They allow the site to remember information about your visit (such as your language or colour theme preferences) so that your next visit is more convenient.
Besides traditional HTTP cookies, there are similar storage technologies such as the browser's localStorage , which also stores small amounts of information on your device, but with no expiry date and without being sent automatically to the server.
2. What storage does this website use?
The website thrax.es uses technical local storage (localStorage) and, through Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics 4 analytics cookies (third-party). The forms also use Google reCAPTCHA as a security measure:
| Identifier | Type | Purpose | Duration | Necessary |
|---|---|---|---|---|
thrax-theme | localStorage (technical) | Remembers the colour theme (light or dark) chosen by the user | Persistent (until deleted manually or the browser's storage is cleared) | Yes |
thrax-wa-lead | localStorage (functional) | Remembers that you've already given us your name and phone number via the WhatsApp button, so we don't ask for them again on your next click | Persistent (until deleted manually or the browser's storage is cleared) | No |
thrax-wa-nombre | localStorage (functional) | Remembers the name you gave us, so the message WhatsApp opens with can be written for you | Persistent (until deleted manually or the browser's storage is cleared) | No |
thrax_vid | Own cookie (first-party) | Identifies returning visits for internal site usage statistics (pages viewed, buttons used), accessible only from the internal admin panel | Up to 400 days, renewed on each visit (the technical limit browsers impose on any cookie) | No |
_ga | Third-party cookie (Google Analytics 4) | Distinguishes users anonymously to measure site usage (traffic statistics) | 2 years | No |
_ga_<ID> | Third-party cookie (Google Analytics 4) | Maintains the state of the Google Analytics 4 measurement session | 2 years | No |
_GRECAPTCHA | Third-party cookie (Google reCAPTCHA) | Protects the contact and WhatsApp forms against spam and automated submissions. Only loaded when you're about to use a form | 6 months | Yes |
The entries thrax-theme, thrax-wa-lead and thrax-wa-nombre are not sent to any server and remain solely on your device; the last two are only saved if you accept functional cookies, and the name is the one you typed yourself before opening WhatsApp. The thrax_vid cookie belongs to thrax.es (it is not third-party): it identifies your browser for our internal site usage statistics, together with your full IP address, browser, operating system, device type and pages/buttons used. The Google Analytics 4 _ga cookies, on the other hand, are sent to Google for statistical purposes; the IP address is anonymised and the measurement is aggregated, without identifying you personally.
3. Types of cookies: classification
For information, cookies are usually classified as:
- Technical or necessary cookies: essential for the website's basic operation. They do not require the user's prior consent under the GDPR and the LSSI (Spain's Information Society Services Act).
- Analytics or measurement cookies: collect statistical information about site usage (pages visited, time spent, traffic source). They require consent.
- Preference or functional cookies: remember the user's choices (language, region, etc.). Depending on their purpose, they may require consent.
- Advertising or marketing cookies: allow personalised ads to be shown and campaign effectiveness to be measured. They always require prior consent.
At present, thrax.es uses necessary technical storage (the thrax-theme entry in localStorage), functional storage (thrax-wa-lead and thrax-wa-nombre, only with your consent), Google Analytics 4 analytics cookies and, on the forms, the security cookie from Google reCAPTCHA. No advertising cookies or tracking cookies for marketing purposes are installed.
4. Third-party cookies: current and future situation
This site loads Google Tag Manager (Google Ireland Ltd.), which activates Google Analytics 4 for statistical purposes. Google Analytics installs third-party cookies (_ga and _ga_<ID>) that collect aggregated information about site usage. The IP address is anonymised; the data is used only for browsing statistics, not for personalised advertising, and is not passed on to third parties for commercial purposes.
You can object to this measurement by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or by blocking third-party cookies in your browser settings (see the next section). To find out how Google handles this data, see Google's privacy policy.
The contact forms and the WhatsApp button are protected by Google reCAPTCHA v3 (Google Ireland Ltd.). It isn't loaded when you arrive on the website, only when the form appears on screen, when you tap it or when you open the WhatsApp prompt. To check that the sender is a person, Google analyses technical data from your browser and your interaction with the page (including your IP address) and may read or install its own cookies, such as _GRECAPTCHA. It is a necessary security measure for the forms to work, so it does not depend on consent given in the banner; its use is subject to the privacy policy and terms of service of Google.
5. How to disable or delete local storage
You can delete the thrax-theme entry — and any other locally stored data — at any time from your browser's settings. Here's how to do it in the main browsers:
- Google Chrome: Settings > Privacy and security > Third-party cookies / Site data > See all site data and permissions > search for "thrax.es" and delete.
- Mozilla Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data > Manage Data > search for "thrax.es" and remove.
- Microsoft Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Manage and delete cookies and site data > search for "thrax.es" and delete.
- Safari: Settings > Privacy > Manage Website Data > search for "thrax.es" and remove.
Please note that if you delete this entry, on your next visit the website will go back to detecting your theme preference (light or dark) from your operating system settings.
You can also set your browser to block all use of localStorage or third-party cookies. However, blocking technical storage may stop some websites from working properly.
