About 13 minutes by road, 8.8 km between the two town halls according to the route planner we use to organise call-outs. In practice, that means an urgent call in Cardedeu is handled the same day or the next, with no extra call-out cost, just as if it were in Granollers. When the problem is software — a reinstall, an antivirus, a network setting — we often don't even need to travel: we fix it remotely there and then. Network, camera or wireless link installations do need someone on site, and that's where being close by counts: we don't charge mileage within the Vallès Oriental. In December 2020, upgrade works on three industrial estates were completed at the same time: Granollers installed underground fibre optic ducting at La Font del Ràdium, Mollet del Vallès did the same at Can Magarola and Can Prat, and at Cardedeu's PAE Sud the works covered sewers, street lighting and an electric charging point, without that ducting. That's a fact about civil works under one specific 2020 funding round, not about which operator serves each unit today: nobody publishes that street by street, and we're not going to make it up. What we do offer businesses on the estate is an alternative that doesn't depend on a trench reaching them: a point-to-point wireless link or a Starlink installation, depending on line of sight and each unit's needs.

Yes. Cardedeu has three industrial estates — Sud, the largest, Pla del Marital and Can Boixadera — with small firms from a wide range of sectors: metalworking, lighting, abrasives, furniture, paper and board, and chemicals, according to the Town Council's own economic data. We work with businesses on all three: internal networks, Wi-Fi for the unit and the office, perimeter and entrance security cameras, backups, and support when a machine stops working and production can't grind to a halt because of it. The PAE Sud also recently gained a signposted business directory divided into three sectors — A, B and C — and its own business owners' association, which makes it much easier to coordinate installations across several neighbouring units at once if needed.

The municipality of Cardedeu isn't just the town centre: it includes the hamlets (veïnats) of Coma, Rieral and Sant Hilari, and the housing estates of Bellavista, Les Canyes and Can Corbella, the latter now almost part of the town. The Mas de Sant Hilari, for example, is 3.5 km from the centre. These are areas with more scattered housing, partly on forest land — in 2023 the Town Council cleared scrub to open up the 25-metre safety strip required by wildfire prevention regulations. In locations like these, when a conventional connection is complicated or simply unavailable, it makes most sense to consider a wireless link or Starlink for connectivity, and it's where we get the most calls for mesh Wi-Fi networks that properly cover a large plot with several buildings.

On the housing side, Cardedeu's homes are relatively large: according to the 2021 census there are 6,819 main residences, and more than one in five exceeds 120 m², a share matched only by La Garriga among the towns we cover. In houses that size a single router often can't cover the whole floor area, and that's where mesh Wi-Fi or structured cabling comes in. On the business side, besides the firms on the industrial estates, Cardedeu has more than 300 shops spread across three shopping areas — Estalvi, Centre and Poble Sec — with a weekly Monday market held since 1925 and fairs such as FICARD.
